30 Rock, Slumdog And Ledger Triumph At Screen Actors Guild Awards

Comedy series 30 ROCK was a triple winner at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night (25Jan09), but Hollywood was toasting SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE and Heath Ledger.

After claiming gold at the Golden Globe Awards and Producers Guild Awards, director Danny Boyle's acclaimed movie was named the Best Film at the SAGs - making it a clear favourite for the big prize at the Oscars in a month (22Feb09).

Meanwhile, Kate Winslet's amazing 2009 continued as she claimed a Best Supporting Actress accolade for her role in The Reader, and Ledger was again posthumously honoured for his work as The Joker in The Dark Knight.

The tragic star's co-star Gary Oldman admitted he was "quite emotional" as he stepped up to accept Ledger's honour. Oldman called the Aussie an "extraordinary young man with an extraordinary talent."
