Tina Fey - 30 Rock Shuts Its Doors With Emotional Final Episode

'30 Rock' has ended after seven seasons.

The Emmy Award-winning sitcom - written by and starring Tina Fey along with Alec Baldwin - ended on a bittersweet note as the characters of the comedy's show-within-a-show, 'TGS', went their separate ways after filming one last episode.

Despite 'TGS' being previously cancelled, Tina's producer character Liz Lemon and the show's cast - Tracy Jordan (Tracy Morgan) and Jenna Maroney (Jane Krakowski) - returned to the studio to film a send-off episode, while Alec's Jack Donaghy had a mid-life crisis and quit his dream job as CEO of fictional TV company Kabletown.

The popular comedy series had been on the air since 2006 and has won multiple awards during its time on TV, including 14 Emmy Awards and six Golden Globe Awards.

Over the course of the seven seasons, '30 Rock' attracted big name guest stars such as Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Aniston, Jon Hamm and Tom Hanks.

Actress-and-writer Tina Fey recently revealed she was surprised the show lasted seven years.

She told TV Guide: ''This absolutely should have been 12 episodes, so people could say, 'That show was amazing. I can't believe it was cancelled.

''The fact that we got far enough along that those same people can now say, 'It's not good anymore' is a triumph in itself.''
