3 Doors Down bassist Todd Harrell has checked into rehab to conquer his drink and drug problems after he was charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication over the weekend (20Apr13).

The musician was arrested after he clipped another car while driving through Nashville, Tennessee, on Friday night (19Apr13). The other motorist lost control of his vehicle, which crashed down an embankment and overturned.

The driver, identified as Paul Howard Shoulders, Jr., was killed in the crash, and Harrell was charged in connection with the death and taken into police custody.

He was released after posting bail on Tuesday (23Apr13) and now the 41 year old is seeking treatment for his addiction issues at an undisclosed facility, according to his attorney, Ed Ryan.

In light of the tragedy, the band has cancelled a number of gigs out of respect for the victim.
