2011 Rock 'N' Roll Hall Of Fame Stars Inducted

Alice Cooper has warned he may be the first act to be kicked out of The Rock 'N' Roll Hall Of Fame.

The 'School's Out' singer was inducted into the US institution last night (14.03.11) alongside Neil Diamond, Tom Waits, Dr. John and Darlene Love, but joked his outrageous behaviour may not see him welcomed for long.

He said: "I kept thinking, 'Who will be the first band kicked out of the Hall of Fame?

"And then I thought, 'Gee, that could be us!'"

Cooper and the other inductees were welcomed by an all-star cast including Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Rob Zombie and Neil Young in a ceremony at New York's Waldorf-Astoria hotel.

After giving a performance which included his 1974 track 'School's Out' - accompanied by a group of schoolchildren - 63-year-old shock rocker Alice told how he never wants to outgrow rock music.

He said: "I Hope I never outgrow a pete townsend windmill chord. I hope I never outgrow a Jeff Beck lead guitar."

The night featured a number of guest performances and tributes to the artists being inducted, including Paul Simon saying he knew synagogues where Elvis was considered "a bogus Neil Diamond."

Later, after being hailed as "indescribable" by Young, Waits said: "They say that I have no hits and I'm difficult to work with. And they say that like it's a bad thing!"

The pair then got together for a performance of Waits' 'Get Behind the Mule'.

Another performance saw Springsteen playing guitar alongside Love in an arrangement of 'Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah'.

The night's finale saw Love, Bette Midler, John, Cooper and Diamond singing 'Do Doo Ron Ron'.
