A Tintin Comic Strip Has Smashed Auction Records For Cartoon Memorabilia In Paris, France.
Belgian cartoonist Herge's double-page strip from Tintin, King Ottokar's Sceptre has fetched a record 1.6 million euros (£1.1 million/$1.8 million), almost double the estimate.
The strip, which was published in Le Petit Vingtieme in 1939 and chronicles a plane crash featuring the titular boy detective and his dog Snowy, was part of top cartoon expert Jean-Arnold Schoofs' collection.
