ZEFFIRELLI 'DOING WELL' IN HOSPITAL

Italian movie legend FRANCO ZEFFIRELLI is recovering after being rushed to hospital suffering from an irregular heartbeat yesterday (22JAN07). Despite the initial scare, the ROMEO AND JULIET director is now "doing well" after undergoing tests at Rome's San Giovanni hospital, according to his son LUCIANO. The 83-year-old, who recently directed a production of VERDI's opera AIDA to open the 2006-2007 season at Milan's La Scala opera house, is likely to be released from hospital in the next few days.
