YOUNG ANNOUNCES FARM AID CONCERT
NEIL YOUNG slammed US authorities for allowing the American agricultural community's problems to be "swept under the rug" when he told fans this year's Farm Aid concert will be held near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The 19th Farm Aid, a concert to raise money for family farms while fighting corporate agriculture, will take place on 30 September (06) at the Tweeter Center in Camden, New Jersey. Speaking at Philadelphia's Reading Terminal Market, Farm Aid founder Young said, "It is unfortunate that we have to continue doing this. I really hope that we don't have to do Farm Aid forever." Confirmed to appear at the concert are Young, his fellow Farm Aid co-founders WILLIE NELSON and JOHN MELLENCAMP, and DAVE MATTHEWS. More acts will be announced.
