YELLOW SUBMARINE TO SAIL BACK ONTO THE BIG SCREEN
The BEATLES' mind-bending animated movie YELLOW SUBMARINE is set for a big screen revamp, with movie mogul ROBERT ZEMECKIS at the helm.
The 1968 original was a big hit and the director plans to re-imagine the movie in the performance-capture 3-D digital production format he employed for upcoming film A Christmas Carol, in which Jim Carrey plays Scrooge as well as the three ghosts who haunt the literary miser.
The new Yellow Submarine, which will feature 16 Beatles hits, will hit cinemas during the summer of 2012, according to Daily Variety.
Disney will be the studio behind the project.
