YEARWOOD EYES BROADWAY ROLE
Singer TRISHA YEARWOOD has appealed to Broadway bosses to consider her for a stage role once her country music career slows down.
The Grammy-winning songstress has enjoyed guest roles on U.S. television, including Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman and the Emmy-winning legal drama, JAG.
And although she admits she's not quite ready to make her Broadway debut, Yearwood insists she has a burning desire to fulfil the lifelong ambition.
She says, “There’s a lot of things I still want to do. I really do just love to sing. But I like a lot of different kinds of music and I feel like I’m at a place now where hopefully I can do some different things. I want to do an acoustic record. I want to do a standards record. I want to do Broadway... I like (acting). I like stepping out of my comfort zone.
“Going to New York for a year right now is not an option, but it would be something I’d like to do in the future.”
