WYMAN ENCOURAGES KIDS TO DIG WITH NEW METAL DETECTOR

Former ROLLING STONES star BILL WYMAN has created a new metal detector for children. The archaeology buff has written books about the treasures he has found with his own metal detector and helped excavate a Roman fort near his home in Suffolk, England in 2005. And now Wyman wants to get kids interested in digging up the past. He says, "I realised there's nothing like this for children and there's lots of kids getting into this - looking for coins, anything. "It's called the Bill Wyman Signature C-Scope. I just invented it for kids. It's professional and lightweight. There's tons of things to find in England and I'd love it if kids started getting out there, looking for it." The C-Scope hit the market in Britain yesterday (20MAR07).
