WYLER'S SON TO REMAKE BEN HUR
Movie icon WILLIAM WYLER's son DAVID has announced plans to remake his father's BEN HUR just days after the death of the epic's star CHARLTON HESTON.
The 1959 movie has become one of cinema's greatest films - and now director Wyler's son wants to retell the biblical epic as a TV mini-series.
Wyler tells Daily Variety, "In my mind this is dedicated to my dad and Chuck (Heston). We think it's a great way to keep his memory alive."
And he insists the new Ben Hur project will be very different to the film his father made.
He adds, "It's been 50 years since my father's version and we think we can bring something new and contemporary to it in the same way that Gladiator did for that genre."

This is in EXTREMELY BAD TASTE to announce this just days after the late GREAT Charlton
Heston's passing! There is only ONE Ben-Hur & that is Charlton Heston FOREVER as
far as I'm concerned! If David Wyler does this "remake" I will make it a point NEVER
to watch anything that is produced by him & believe me that I will spread the word!!!
