WU-TANG RETRACT CLAIMS OF BEATLES SAMPLE

LATEST: New York rappers WU TANG CLAN have retracted claims they sampled BEATLES classic WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS on a new track. The rap collective recently claimed they had recorded a cover of the song, which was originally written by the late George Harrison in 1968 - but now insist it was a misunderstanding. A posting on their MySpace page reads, "We didn't sample The Beatles, it was a replay, pardon. "The statement that we made yesterday was incorrect and we apologise for any confusion it may have caused. We did not sample The Beatles...rather we did an interpolation of the classic George Harrison composition While My Guitar Gently Weeps. "Dhani Harrison, son of George, through his friendship with the RZA, played guitar on the song and he himself helped secure the reuse license."
