WRITER DAVID SHAW DIES
Writer DAVID SHAW has died following a long illness. He was 90.
A film, TV and stage writer for 50 years, Shaw passed away in his sleep at his Beverly Hills, California home on Friday (27Jul07).
Shaw followed his novelist/playwright brother Irwin Shaw to Los Angeles in the late 1940s, where he began writing for television. His TV credits include Playhouse 90 and The Defenders.
Shaw also wrote movies such as A Foreign Affair (1948) and The Man Inside (1958), and two award-winning Broadway musicals, Redhead and Tovarich.
He is survived by his actress wife Maxine Stuart and two daughters, one of whom, Liz Baron, owns U.S. restaurant chain Blue Mesa Grill.
