WOOD RECOVERS AFTER HERNIA OPERATION
ROLLING STONES star RONNIE WOOD has been forced to undergo surgery - after giving himself a hernia while performing onstage. The 60-year-old injured himself during the group's Bigger Bang Tour which concluded in August 2007 - but thought nothing of the stomach pains until his conditioned worsened and he was eventually diagnosed with a hernia. The guitarist was determined not to let his ill health put a damper on the holiday season - and had put off the operation until last week. His spokeswoman says, "He doesn't know exactly the moment it happened, just that it happened while he was on tour and that it got progressively more uncomfortable. "He waited until after Christmas to have the operation last week and is now resting." A statement on the guitarist's MySpace Internet page said, "He is now at home recovering and feeling well."
