WOOD: 'MANSON ROMANCE WAS A BAD IDEA'
Actress EVAN RACHEL WOOD has called her romance with rocker MARILYN MANSON "a bad idea", suggesting young girls shouldn't date much older men.
Manson was in his late 30s when he started dating The Wrestler star, who is now 21, and the odd couple split last year (08).
They briefly reconciled this past spring (09), but Wood has moved on again and is now dating actor Shane West, who turned 31 on Wednesday (10Jun09).
And she's speaking out about age-gap romances.
She tells WENN, "I don’t think it works. I think it’s a bad idea. I think as long as you learn from it - good or bad experience - it’s an experience, and you should take something away from it."
And her viewpoint on romance with much older men is shaping the roles she plays - Wood insists she'd have turned down the chance to work with Woody Allen on his new film Whatever Works if her character's relationship with Larry David's went too far.
She explains, "I spoke to Larry about it and told him if the relationship went any further sexually I wouldn’t have done the movie... That's one of the things that I liked about the relationship in the movie; it never crosses that line or gets creepy."

I think Evan Rachel Wood has a good persepctive on relationships and romance.
She's still quite young, but she's maturing and discovering what works and what
doesn't. Perhaps at times, it's not all about age gaps because Shane West is
after all 10 years older than her. It seems more a matter of compatibility and
Manson/Woods as an item was a real shock to the system. ERW is a gifted
actress on the cusp of a brilliant career. I enjoyed her performances tracing
all the way back to Once and Again. And how ironic is it that after launching
a caeer as a film actress, she finds herself romantically involved with a
fellow actor who took a similar path? One who protrayed her BROTHER in Once
and Again no less. It's symmetry... I think Shane West and Evan Rachel Wood
make a great match, and I hope their relationship continues to thrive.

manson to begin with.what would you think would happen-he'd get younger as you
got older so you both would become the same age?!?!who are you to say that the
age gap like you and manson had wouldn't work with anybody else?!just because
