WOMAN CHANNELS JACKSON ON L.A. NEWS PROGRAM

Saying "This will do down as one of the most interesting stories ever done on KTLA," Los Angeles reporter Brandon Rudat interviewed a psychic who claims that she has been in contact with the singer from beyond the grave since his death. The psychic, who uses only the name Vox, said in the lengthy feature that the spirit of the dead Jackson gets "very emotional" over the fact television stations showed a photo of his dead body as it was being wheeled into a hospital emergency room. Weeping, Vox said, "He would very rarely get angry but this is something that angered him tremendously." (Rudat had no reluctance to show the photo again.) The website FishBowlLA headlined its report about the KTLA newscast, "Michael Jackson Coverage Hits a New Low," and commented, "Way to cheapen celebrity journalism."
