WIRE HITS OUT AT STAR COLLABORATIONS

MANIC STREET PREACHERS star NICKY WIRE has blasted musicians who collaborate with each other, branding the projects "pointless".
The Welsh rockers have recorded songs with former porn star Traci Lords and The Cardigans vocalist Nina Persson during their 20-year stint in the music industry.
But bassist Wire criticises artists who regularly work with fellow chart stars.
He says, "There's a lot of lyrical cliches. People in bands spread themselves so thinly these days with endless, pointless collaboration."
But he is full of praise for some of his musical peers.
He adds; "Liam (Gallagher) is a very beautiful star and Pete (Doherty) has an X factor. A very grubby X factor, it has to be said."
