WIRE BLAMES BACK INJURY FOR SUBDUED GIG

MANIC STREET PREACHERS star NICKY WIRE has apologised to fans for his lacklustre performance at a show on Tuesday night (26May09) - a back injury prevented him from rocking out.
The bassist played an unusually subdued set at the band's gig at Llandudno Venue Cymru Arena in Wales, barely moving throughout the entire set.
But Wire has revealed his condition is down to the side-effects of a prolapsed disc.
And he has taken to the band's blog to reassure fans he has every intention of carrying on with the group's U.K. tour.
He writes, "I would just like to apologise for the gig last night in Llandudno. I am trying to nurse a prolapsed disc through the tour and last night it went into spasm on stage.
"This made it virtually impossible for me to move, let alone jump. I desperately want to carry on the tour but it will mean a combination of standing still, sitting down on stage, back braces and painkillers.
"As you know standing still is utterly alien to me on stage. I don't want any sympathy but hopefully this will explain my lack of movement and general mood. Thank you for your understanding."
