WINSLET PUT KROSS' NERVES AT EASE WITH HUMOUR

Actress KATE WINSLET turned to humour to help calm her young THE READER co-star DAVID KROSS' nerves as they filmed their steamy sex scenes for the post-war drama.
Kross, 18, stars as a younger version of Ralph Fiennes' character Michael Berg, who has an affair with an older woman, played by Winslet.
And the Titanic beauty admits she tried to lighten the mood to put Kross at ease.
She says, "You have to keep a sense of humour.
"David was scared, of course he was. But he relaxed and gave a great performance."
Kross' portrayal has earned him a nomination for Best Young Actor/Actress at the 14th Annual Critics' Choice Awards, which takes place on Thursday (08Jan09).
