WINKLER REGRETS TURNING DOWN GREASE

Former HAPPY DAYS star HENRY WINKLER was devastated after he turned down the lead role in GREASE - because the film went on to be an international hit. The actor was originally approached to play the part of Danny in the famous musical but rejected the offer and the role was passed to John Travolta. But Winkler now regrets the decision as he is still best know for playing The Fonz while Travolta went on to become a major movie star. He says, "I was asked to be in Grease. But I decided I didn't want to be typecast. But what I didn't realise was that I already was. "That's why John Travolta went on to buy his own plane and I just went home."
