WINEHOUSE 'VERY HAPPY' AT GALLERY PERFORMANCE

AMY WINEHOUSE jumped at the chance to perform a private gig to mark the launch of a Russian art gallery this week (ends13Jun08), because she wanted to "play her part" in the opening of such a "great building".
The Back To Black singer was asked by Daria Zhukova, the girlfriend of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, to sing in front of a select group of art fans at The Garage gallery in Moscow, which Zhukova helped to set up.
Winehouse was reportedly paid $2 million (GBP1 million) for the exclusive one-hour performance on Thursday (12Jun08) night.
And she was delighted to have taken part in the gallery opening.
Her spokesperson says, "She (Winehouse) thoroughly enjoyed herself. Amy was very happy to play her part in the restoring of such a great building to its future use as a space for contemporary art."
It is not the first time Winehouse has been hired for a lucrative private concert - she was reportedly paid $1 million (GBP500,000) to appear at a Louis Vuitton fashion show in Paris, France in February (08).
