WINEHOUSE PLANS SPECIAL DUET FOR MANDELA GIG
AMY WINEHOUSE is preparing a unique treat for NELSON MANDELA's birthday concert this Friday (27Jun08) - she's planning a duet with THE SPECIAL AKA star JERRY DAMMERS.
The Rehab hitmaker is reported to be teaming up with British rocker Dammers to perform his band's hit song Free Nelson Mandela - a track he wrote in 1984 to campaign for the release of the former South African president.
Dammers, a staunch opponent of the apartheid regime, organised the 70th birthday concert celebration for Mandela in 1988, despite the politician and anti-apartheid activist being in jail at the time.
He was released on 11 February 1990.
His 90th birthday gig is to be held in London's Hyde Park on Friday.
