WILSON DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER

Music mogul TONY WILSON has been diagnosed with kidney cancer. The British entrepreneur founded Manchester record label Factory Records, managing the careers of NEW ORDER, JOY DIVISION and HAPPY MONDAYS. Wilson was given emergency surgery last month (JAN07) to remove a kidney, and is due to begin chemotherapy treatment at Christie Hospital, Manchester, next week (begs19FEB07). But 56-year-old Wilson remains upbeat, insisting the illness is "(just) another step in life's adventure."
