Actress MICHELLE WILLIAMS refuses to bring daughter MATILDA up in Los Angeles - because of the legacy of her late father HEATH LEDGER.
The Dawson's Creek star shuns the spotlight, choosing to live in Brooklyn, New York with her three-year-old.
And Williams would never consider moving to Hollywood, because of the media circus surrounding Matilda's late father.
The actress tells Britain's Telegraph newspaper, "I wouldn't raise (Matilda) there. For all the obvious reasons - being the daughter of…(Heath)
"Being an actor's daughter. It's a town that's about one thing and I want her to have options."
Ledger, who is hotly tipped to receive a posthumous Academy Award on Sunday (22Feb09) for his turn as The Joker in The Dark Knight, died from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs at his New York apartment on 22 January 2008.
