WILL YOUNG STRUGGLES TO QUIT SMOKING

British singer Will Young, who recently had his tonsils removed, is "finding it really hard" to give up smoking.

Will Young is desperately trying to quit smoking in a bid to save his voice.

The 'Changes' singer recently had his tonsils removed and while he says his vocal chords are fine, he is aware of the damage his 20-a-day cigarette habit is causing.

He said: "Honestly, I'm back on the mend and feeling good.

"But I'm finding it really hard. I know it's a bad habit, but I get a lot of pleasure from it. I'm trying the patches at the moment, so wish me luck."

Will is not the only celebrity feeling under pressure to give up cigarettes.

It was recently claimed Tom Cruise had banned his wife Katie Holmes from smoking after discovering she had taken up the deadly habit again.

A source said: "Tom leads a very disciplined life and happily encourages Katie to follow Scientology and purification detoxes.

"He is livid she's started smoking again and is doing everything he can to put pressure on her to quit what he calls a filthy habit."

In 2007, it was reported Girls Aloud beauties Cheryl Cole and Nadine Coyle were undergoing hypnosis in a bid to quit smoking.

A source said: "Nadine's been smoking more since her break-up.

"Trying hypnosis has been suggested to make it a whole lot easier."
