WHITNEY HOUSTON - WHITNEY HOUSTON EYES COMEBACK

Er, first of all, who do you think introduced Whitney to her good friend crack?!? And second, this is "not to knock" the legend that is Mr Davis; but whilst I think Mariah always has, and will continue to be genuinely respectful to her peers and influences, I very much doubt that she would agree Whitney has a better voice than her. I've always been a Whitney-fan, even during her drug-induced glory days, but she is all about the grandiose. With her you always know what type of record you are buying. That is not something that can be said for Mariah, because she writes her songs with the most simplistic vocal arrangements in mind so that she can add "textures and colours" later on. That is not an avenue available to Whitney because she does not write her own material. Lord knows if anyone has enough material to draw from, it's her, and maybe that is something we will see in said new material, but as far as capability goes, with all due respect, Ms. Whitney can't hold a candle to her, I'm sorry. They can duel, but there's only one real winner - she is already divorced; and currently has the 7th best grossing North American tour of 2006. That said I do hope she is well enough for Clive's annual Grammy party; I think she'll have herself a nice, warm welcome.
