WHITE STRIPES CONFIRM US TOUR

The White Stripes have confirmed a full US tour beginning in Chicago in September and finishing with two dates in Seattle.

The Detroit band will visit states they haven't played in before as part of the group's ethos to tour the whole of the US.

After two nights at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago the band will move on to New England, North Dakota, Indiana, Utah, Texas, California and Washington.

Jack and Meg White's band will release their new album Icky Thump on June 18th preceded by the single of the same name on June 11th.

The White Stripes will play a gig in Hyde Park as part of the Wireless Festival on June 14th and will the headline the Leeds version of the festival the day after.

The band will head back to the US for a festival in Tennessee soon after the two UK dates and will then embark on a summer tour of North America.

No more UK dates are currently confirmed, but it seems likely the band will visit England at some point this year to tour Icky Thump.

Jack White is back with his original band after touring extensively with the Raconteurs, a side-project with his friend Brendan Benson.

The frontman is currently recording a new album with the band before heading out on the road as the White Stripes.
