WHITE HONOURED BY IRISH UNIVERSITY

Rocker JACK WHITE was made an honorary patron of an Irish university in a low-key ceremony on Sunday night (18Oct09).
The White Stripes star gave a surprise lecture at Dublin's Trinity College before he was honoured by the institute's Philosophical Society.
White also answered questions from students about his music career and his recent film It Might Get Loud, in which he features alongside other guitarists including Jimmy Page and U2's The Edge.
He says, "It was a pretty incredible experience to work with those two guys."
Novelist Bram Stoker and playwright/poet Oscar Wilde are among the past recipients of the honour.
