WHITE DENIES HE IS WORKING ON NEW RACONTEURS RECORD

Rocker JACK WHITE has denied reports he is working on the THE RACONTEURS' new album - but concedes he is keeping busy with three different projects. The White Stripes frontman has been using his time well since he was forced to scrap his band's tour in September (07), because drummer Meg White was suffering from "acute anxiety". But he is remaining tight-lipped about the new projects. He says, "Half of me was glad (we cancelled the tour) because I have three other records I'm working on, and I didn't have any time to work on them. "I was really getting worried that I might have to not do these things I wanted to do because of the touring." But he insists the new albums and the scrapped tour do not mark the end of The White Stripes. He adds, "If it came to a point where Meg said, 'I don't want to be in this band anymore, it doesn't fulfil me in any way,' then it would be a different story. But she's not saying that."
