WEST SIDE STORY TOPS MUSICALS POLL
Screen classic WEST SIDE STORY has topped a poll naming the greatest screen musicals of all time, beating out competition from such favourites as SINGIN' IN THE RAIN and MARY POPPINS.
The 1961 movie, which starred NATALIE WOOD, was scored by LEONARD BERNSTEIN.
Second place in British newspaper The Observer's poll is GOLD DIGGERS OF 1933.
