WENTZ'S 'WILD' BASEBALL PITCH

Rocker PETE WENTZ has no plans to quit music to pursue his love of baseball - after throwing a "wild" first pitch before the Los Angeles Dodgers game on Wednesday (02Sep09).
The Fall Out Boy bassist stepped up to the plate at Dodgers Stadium to mark the start of the team's clash with division rivals the Arizona Diamondbacks, but his pitch was sub-par even by the star's own admission, and he has publicly thanked Dodgers catcher Brad Ausmus for stopping him from making a complete fool out of himself.
Writing on his Twitter.com blog, Wentz says, "Thanks to Brad Ausmus. Threw a wild one but he still caught it. Sticking to my day job!"
Wentz's bad throw appeared to signal a dismal night for the Dodgers - they lost the game 4-1.
