WELLER THRILLED WITH PUNJABI GOD TRACK
British rocker PAUL WELLER was stunned when former STONE ROSES star AZIZ IBRAHIM recorded a spoken word track on his new album - because the guitarist's Punjabi dialect sounded so spiritual.
Weller recorded the song God in his own voice but was far from happy with his "dulcet monotone" - so he asked Ibrahim to try it instead.
The former The Jam star says, "He gave it a go and it sounded perfect. He is a Muslim... but he agreed with the sentiment - that God is mostly only there when we are in times of need.
"At the end of the song he starts to say it in Punjabi (and) it sounds like he is speaking in tongues (unintelligible spiritual utterances) as the track gets increasingly chaotic, and I like that a lot."
