WELLER BLASTS LED ZEPPELIN COMEBACK
Legendary British singer PAUL WELLER has slammed LED ZEPPELIN's comeback plans - and insisted he will never reform his old band THE JAM.
The Kashmir hitmakers announced in October (08) that they plan to tour in 2009 without frontman Robert Plant, who has opted out of the reunion shows.
But Weller has hit out at the remaining members for deciding to reform without the singer - announcing he has "no interest" in seeing them play live next year (09) and would never consider a similar comeback for his popular rock band The Jam.
He says, "There's no point to it. I don't understand the need for nostalgia. I don't get it. I don't know where it's come from. Someone offered me a ticket to see Led Zep.
"I've no interest whatsoever to go and see people reform, you know. I'm happy with what they've done at the time and the records and your memories and that's it really."

Paul Weller must have too much time on his hands. Otherwise why would he
comment on something he doesn;t care about. Everyone knows he hates Led
Zeppelin...anyway the previous posters is correct about your article.
Page, Jones and Jason never said they were touring Led Zeppelin without Plant.
They are trying to find a singer to make NEW music. Jones & Page himself has
said there would be no point in touring as Led Zeppelin as they would be their
own tribute act.
There once was a time when real journalists existed. Now we have a world
populated by lazy kids on work experience duty.
You shouldn't be too ashamed though since everyone else does it.
Your article is full of inaccuracies. This is lousy journalism.
1. Led Zeppelin DID NOT announce they were going on tour without Robert Plant.
Jason Bonham, John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page have all stated clearly that they
don't yet know what form their new project will take. Page's management has
stated that IT WILL NOT BE CALLED LED ZEPPELIN.
2. The press should be asking Paul Weller, McCartney, Jeff Beck and others what
they think of plans by the remainder of Led Zeppelin to form a new group now
that Robert Plant has refused to work with them. If you ask them about
ficticious plans to tour as Led Zeppelin with another singer (something none of
them has ever said they would do), of course the replies are going to be
negative.
WHATEVER HAPPENED TO RESPONSIBLE JOURNALISM?
