WELCH STILL HOPEFUL FOR DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES ROLE

Veteran actress RAQUEL WELCH still hopes to land a role in U.S. TV series DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES after coming close to signing up to the show last year (07). The 67-year-old was approached to make an appearance in the show but the deal fell through at the last minute, which led the veteran siren to work on new sitcom Welcome To The Captain. But Welch admits she would love to get involved with the smash-hit show and is grateful to be still working despite her advancing years. She says, "There was talk, but nothing materialised. I've often thought that I would like to play a relative of Eva Longoria, but it's fine. "I'm working in this medium. We're all in this together, and I'm really enjoying it."
