Hit TV show WEEDS and movie GRANDMA'S BOY were the big winners at the sixth annual High Times Stony Awards in New York on Tuesday (24OCT06). Both claimed three prizes at the event, held to honour the acts, icons and projects of marijuana culture. Weeds was named Best TV Series, while its stars JUSTIN KIRK and MARY-LOUISE PARKER claimed the night's Best Actor and Best Actress honours. Grandma's Boy was named Best Stoner Movie and also took home the Best Film Actor (ALLEN COVERT) and Best Pot Scene awards. A SCANNER DARKLY was named Best Movie/Drama and stoner icon TOMMY CHONG claimed the Top Pot Comic honour, while his biopic AKA TOMMY CHONG picked up the Best Documentary prize. But the night's biggest cheer at BB King's club came when JEFF 'THE DUDE' DOWD was given the Stony Achievement Award for inspiring cult movie THE BIG LEBOWSKI.
