WAYANS CONTEMPLATED STEROID USE FOR G.I. JOE ROLE

Comedic actor MARLON WAYANS was so serious about playing an action hero in upcoming blockbuster G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA he contemplated illegal steroid use.
Movie bosses demanded the 37 year old pack on pounds of muscle to play a believable army hero, opposite Hollywood hunk Channing Tatum in the war film.
The actor admits he soon grew weary of torturous gym sessions, and came close to injecting himself with the drug as a last resort to get the body he desired.
He says, "I had to put on some size because I had to take my shirt off in the movie. But it's really cool to act and see your six pack. No steroids... I thought about it. It was a lot of work because when you're in the gym and we're lifting these weights, I'm just struggling.
"Channing's a big dude. He had to come down a weight and I had to go up a weight. We were like two fighters meeting in the middle. I think we did a good job."
