WAY SAVED BY ENO'S MUSIC FOR AIRPORTS

MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE frontman GERARD WAY credits BRIAN ENO's MUSIC FOR AIRPORTS album with saving his life when a drug-fuelled depression sent him spiralling out of control. The singer was on the verge of a suicidal breakdown when the cult goth-rock group toured Japan in 2004 and raced home to America to seek help with a therapist. Way recalls, "He said, 'When you leave here, you're going to go buy Brian Eno's Music For Airports, and it's gonna calm you the f**k down.' "I had a bottle of vodka in the trunk just in case, and I listened to it in a parking lot and felt a lot better. So I threw the bottle out and went to AA (Alcoholics Anonymous)." Way has been sober ever since.
