WARWICK TURNS CHILDREN'S AUTHOR
Soul legend DIONNE WARWICK has written a children's book, based on her own early life.
The 66-year-old has collaborated with Brazilian illustrator Soud to create Say A Little Prayer, which is named after her most famous hit.
The story follows Little D, a girl who discovers her singing talent after her grandfather encourages her to perform in front of an audience. Warwick found fame after singing at her minister grandfather's New Jersey church.
The book will also include a CD featuring Warwick's rendition of Jesus Loves Me - which she sang during that first performance.
She says of the book, "I'm hopeful that readers of this book will follow their dreams and embrace the message that my grandfather gave to me: 'If you can think it, you can do it!'
"I have always wanted to write a book of inspiration, and I couldn't think of a better audience to write for than children."
