WARNER BROS IS HOME FOR NOLAN'S NEW INCEPTION

Christopher Nolan, director of The Dark Knight, has signed a seven-figure deal to direct his new project Inception for Warner Bros studios.

A science-fiction action project, Inception is an original screenplay written by Nolan himself and is set to begin shooting this summer, Variety reports.

He will produce the film with partner Emma Thomas, who worked with Nolan on the box office smash The Dark Knight.

Though little is known about Inception, Warner Bros has described the project as a "contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind".

Warner Bros' desire to work Nolan again is unsurprising with The Dark Knight having earned more than $996 million (£702 million) to become the fourth most successful film of all time.

And the British-American director's other collaborations with Warner Bros - Insomnia, Batman Begins and The Prestige - have earned more than half a billion dollars between them.

"Chris Nolan is a visionary filmmaker who continually raises the bar with each movie he makes," added Warner Bros Pictures Group president Jeff Robinov.

"We are thrilled to be collaborating again with him and Emma on this exciting new motion picture."

Nolan is also attached to direct a film adaptation of classic TV series The Prisoner for Universal Studios while Warner Bros also hopes to secure his commitment to a third Batman film.
