WALSH VOLUNTEERS TO NURTURE PARENTING SKILLS

Actress KATE WALSH is so keen to become a parent, she's been preparing for motherhood by helping out at a local children's hospital.
The Private Practice star, 41, is in the midst of divorce proceedings from her husband Alex Young, whom she wed in September 2007.
But that hasn't put her off the idea of becoming a mum, and she's been nurturing her parenting skills by signing up for volunteer work at a baby unit in Los Angeles.
She tells Redbook magazine, "One of the things I have gotten into is volunteering at hospitals in L.A., helping with the infants who need human contact.
"A few weeks back, I was holding this little baby... I turned to the nurse and asked, 'Is there any way I can volunteer just to hold babies?'"
