WALLACE AND GROMIT DIRECTOR HONOURED WITH STATUE
WALLACE AND GROMIT animator NICK PARK is set to be honoured in his hometown of Preston, England - with a life-size statue of his comic creations.
The Oscar-winning filmmaker is currently working on designs for the bronze effigy, with council officials working to raise the GBP100,000 ($200,000) necessary to find the project.
He says, "This is a really exciting project and I'm delighted to be working on the designs.
"As a Prestonian myself it would be a wonderful honour to have a statue to the characters in my home city."
It is hoped the statue will be unveiled at the end of 2008.
