WALLACE AND GROMIT ANIMATORS SWEEP BRITISH ANIMATION AWARDS

LATEST: WALLACE AND GROMIT creators Aardman Animations have swept the board at this year's (08) British Animation Awards. The British production company won gongs in all four categories it was nominated, including Best Short Film for The Pearce Sisters, as well as Best Children's Series and Children's Choice for Shaun The Sheep: Still Life. Aardman was also recognised with the Best Commissioned New Media Animation for The Peculiar Adventures of Hector at London's National Film Theatre. Animator Suzie Templeton, who won an Oscar for Best Animated Short Film last month (Feb08), took home the Best TV Special award for her creation Peter And The Wolf. The judging panel said the "intensely moving film has outstanding character design, cinematography and animation that create a palpable sense of place".
