WAKEMAN'S UNUSUAL NEW YEAR CELEBRATION

Former YES rocker RICK WAKEMAN once tried to welcome in the New Year with a romantic romp, before his passion was killed by the sight of late British TV presenter ANDY STEWART. The 57-year-old keyboardist admits he had to halt his bedroom session after seeing Stewart, who used to host BBC New Year's Eve show THE WHITE HEATHER CLUB, on television. He recalls, "I remember one year I decided that it would be just a bit of fun to start having sex just before midnight and carry on past midnight - so you'd have sex from one year to the other. "It started out quite well but the television was on and I looked up and there was Andy Stewart. And I'm afraid all the passion just left. It collapsed just before Big Ben struck twelve."
