WAITS ANNOUNCES TOUR WITH BIZARRE PRESS CONFERENCE

Eccentric singer/songwriter TOM WAITS has announced his latest U.S. tour in a bizarre online press conference.
The Downtown Train star claims he carefully planned dates across the "great southwest" so that when concert sites are linked on a map they mirror one of his favourite star constellations.
He says, "You'll see a pattern starting to emerge and you'll notice it has a corresponding night constellation - the constellation Hydra."
Waits has revealed he'll plot a European tour using another nighttime constellation.
Meanwhile, he has created a mantra for his tour, which begins in Phoenix, Arizona on 17 June (08), using the first letter of each town and city where he performs, in chronological order.
He explains, "People Envy Happiness Dogs Though Sense Courage Knowing Jubilation Means Better Assets." Waits ends the quirky tour announcement, which is posted on his TomWaits.com website, by standing and lifting the needle from a record, which ends the hubbub of the press conference.
The camera then pans out as Waits leaves the conference room, revealing it's empty.
