VINNIE JONES INJURED AFTER BAR FIGHT

Actor Vinnie Jones received treatment for facial injuries after a fight in a bar in the US state of South Dakota.

The former footballer was involved in an altercation with another man who hit him in the face with a beer glass.

A brawl ensued and another man, Juan Barrera, also became involved in the scuffle.

Speaking to the he Sioux Falls ArgusLeader newspaper, Barrera said the actor took offence to a remark by Jesse Bickett, 24, who identified Jones as an actor from X-Men.

Barrera claims that Jones was angered by the remark and charged at Bickett.

A spokeswoman from Sanford USD Medical Centre, where Jones received treatment, said: "He was brought in for observation.

"He had a laceration of the head and a nasal injury. He has since been discharged."

Both Jones and Bickett were arrested on assault charges. Jones has been released on bail.

A spokeswoman for Sioux Falls Police told the Daily Mirror: "The British actor Vinnie Jones has been arrested. He was involved in a fight in Sioux Falls in a local bar.

"Mr Jones was booked on a misdemeanor simple assault charge and was later released. I do not have a court date listed yet."
