VENTIMIGLIA GOES BERSERK WITH NEW COMIC BOOK
Actor MILO VENTIMIGLIA is following in the footsteps of rockers GERARD WAY, AVRIL LAVIGNE and PETE WENTZ - he's writing his own comic book.
The Heroes star began work on graphic novel Berserker - about a group of Norse warriors who conquer their enemies with superpowers - after the actor was approached with a screenplay he thought was more fitting as a colourful action-adventure.
He tells the New York Daily News, “It’s about these two guys who find out they have the quality to go berserk, to literally rip people in half. What they really have to deal with is the weight and the emotion of this burden. We identified it immediately as a visual piece. So turning it into a comic was natural.”
Ventimiglia's venture is the latest in a string of similar projects for big name stars - My Chemical Romance frontman Way's 2007 graphic novel series The Umbrella Parade has already become an award-winning hit at Dark Horse Comics, while Lavigne collaborated on the two-part Japanese manga series Make 5 Wishes that same year.
Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz is set to launch own novel series, Fall Out Toyworks, in September (09).
