VEDDER JOINS X STARS AT INAUGURAL PARTY
PEARL JAM star EDDIE VEDDER stunned BARACK OBAMA fans at an Inauguration Day party in Seattle, Washington on Tuesday night (20Jan09) when he stepped up onstage to perform with punk icons JOHN DOE and EXENE CERVENKA.
Vedder and bandmates Jeff Ament and Mike MCCready had managed to blend in with the crowd at the packed Tractor Tavern club when Doe called the Alive singer up onstage.
Keeping a low profile in a black hat, he duetted with Cervenka on a rendition of X’s fan favourite The New World, and then used Doe's torso as a drum for another tune.
As he left the stage, Doe joked, "Thank you, man in the black hat."
