VARDALOS' DOG LOVE FORCES HUSBAND TO HAVE SHOTS

Actress NIA VARDALOS' actor husband has proved his devotion to the MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING star by agreeing to become a dog owner - even though he's allergic to the pets.
Ian Gomez has to take regular shots just so he can live in the same house as his wife and adopted daughter.
Vardalos insists he had little choice because she pestered him long and hard about her need for a pet - and the couple eventually picked one up from the pound.
She says, "My husband had to walk around the house in a Hazmat suit for a while and then he got shots and he's OK."
And just as Gomez was getting used to his new pet, called Manny, his wife brought home a stray, which turned out to be part-coyote.
Vardalos reveals she has had to let her second pet, Trudi, go - because she was so wild and untrainable.
She adds, "She was insane - she ate through a screen on the second floor and tried to commit suicide, she ate through a door, she ate a door knob.
"We called in a dog trainer and the dog trainer took her away to a ranch and tried to train her and then called us up and was like, 'This dog is not trainable.'"
When the actress recognised her dog's breed in a book and informed the trainer, they decided the best thing to do would be to let the coyote run free.
