VANTAGE POINT TAKES TOP SPOT IN UK BOX OFFICE
Vantage Point has topped the UK box office in its first weekend on release.
The US film staring Dennis Quaid and Forrest Whitaker took £1.54 million to beat other new releases the Other Boleyn Girl and The Game Plan into the top position.
The Tudor drama starring Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman charted in second place after taking £952,405.
While the American football comedy The Game Plan took £770,851.
Last week's number one UK film, The Bank Job fell to fourth place, taking £668,456.
Romantic-comedy The Accidental Husband, starring Colin Firth and Uma Thurman, charted in fifth.
Jumper, starring Billy Elliot star Jamie Bell, took £478,673 last week to fall three places to sixth, from third.
Be Kind Rewind, Juno and Semi-Pro all fell from their positions last week, to chart seventh, eight and ninth respectively.
There Will Be Blood, the film which won Daniel-Day Lewis an Oscar last month, made up the top ten.
