VANILLA ICE RELEASED FROM JAIL AFTER BATTERY ARREST

Rapper Vanilla Ice, real name Robert Van Winkle, has been released from jail after being arrested over a dispute with his wife at his home in Florida.

The singer, who shot to fame in the 80s, was taken into police custody on Thursday after his wife claimed that he had beaten her.

Laura Van Winkle told a police official at the time that she had been kicked and beaten but now maintains that her husband had pushed her and not been more violent towards her.

The 40-year-old Ice Ice Baby star was then taken to the Palm Beach County jail where he was booked. He faces a charge of simple battery and is now out on supervised release.

E! News reports that Van Winkle will now enter the Palm Beach County Supervised Own Recognisance programme during which he will not be in physical contact with his spouse. The rapper has previously been in trouble with the police in 2001 over an argument with his wife .
